Chronicals of a Burntout ICU Nurse

Good Morning, today ia May 4, 2011 and I am working at the outpatient center. We have 2 patients this morning and pre-procedure teaching done and our lovely day has began. Outpatient center is like Nurse Heaven, the patient are grateful, the doctors or very nice, and everyone love each other.
Today I would like to list a few signs and symptoms of nurse burnout.
1.The day before you have to go to work you feel tired.
2.The morning prior to work you feel slighlty sick to your stomach
3.While Driving to work you are thinking what can I do instead of going to work?
If you have any of these signs or symptons or other symtoms you would like to share, please comment on my blog.

Chronicals of a Burntout ICU Nurse

Hello My fellow nurses, today is May 2, 2011 and I worked at an oupatient center today and had a great day. Outpatient is an excellent area for nurses to get their groove back. Outpatient care is where you can truly be the nurse you were designed to be. The patients are happy, the nurse is happy and patients receive nursing care above the standard. I would like to find out if any nurses out their would like to get their groove back. Check out" mytotalnursing.com" and we can guide you down the right track to getting your nursing groove back. Today was a very good day.

Remember: YOU ARE THE CHANGE YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR.

Talk to you soon,
Nancy Nurse

Chronicals of a Burntout ICU Nurse

Hello, If you have been following my blog you would know by now I have been a ICU nurse for 20years and 11.5 months.
My ICU nursing days started in 1990, I was madly in love with nursing, my nickname was Nancy Nurse. I ate, slept and lived nursing. I would say I remained in the honeymoon phase for about 15 years. I have spent many years providing care for the Patients. I have worked in the Critical Care Area in many different facilities and I have found there is one common denominator, that is Nurses need more Respect. My honeymoon phase ended abrutly when I realized that most nurses eat their young. Maybe because I was not partaking in the feast of eating the young, I could not see it.I realized that when the day is over the Nurse is always wrong. I would like to empower you as the great Nurse that you are and will become. Nurses have the ability to call all the shots and NURSES ROCK!!!!!!
