Chronicals of a Burntout ICU Nurse

Good afternoon, I am so sorry that I did not blog yesterday, I was totally slumming. I am on vacation until May 9, 2011 and it feels great. I have been brainstorming on new ways to create a new system to help you prevent and identify signs and systems of burnout. Chronicals of a Burntout ICU Nurse

Good afternoon, today is Thursday April 28, 2011, I am off today and relaxing. The day off for a Nurse means not taking care of patients, however we still take care of our families. Today I would like to introduce my Dear Nancy Column, here you can ask questions, vent or just speak about anything you would like to. I will start the question off for you.

Dear Nancy Nurse: How do I know that I am a burnout professional?
Nancy Nurse: You know you are a burnout nurse when you call in slick instead of sick. You know you are a burnout nurse when you are on vacation and you are planning for your next. You know you are a burnout nurse when you feel like going to work is a punishment instead of enjoyment.

I will chat with you later

Chronicals of a Burntout ICU Nurse

Today is Wednesday April 27, 2011. I had a wonderful day in the life of a Burnout ICU Nurse. Today I worked in an outpatient Cardiac Cath Lab. The environment is an excellent place to deliver a high quality of nursing care. I enjoy working outpatient because care that is delivered is pure without administrators dictating the care. Outpatient Nursing is the area where you can provide excellent patient care, a large amount of patient teaching and you can immediately see your results. The patients in the outpatient setting are so appreciative and always call back with great thanks. I love outpatient nursing.

The Birth of My Total Nurse

Good Morning my fellow Nurses, I am so excited because I am embarking on a new career. I have been a Critical Care Nurse for 20 years taking care of patients and doctors. The time has finally come where I can now take care of you, my fellow Nurses. I would like to be your Nursing Coach and guide you into the world of Nurse Owned Companies. It is very important that we as nurses invest in our profession and not let the hospitals, doctors, or patients define our professional role. Please travel with me on this journey of Nurse empowerment. Please check out my website:
